The purpose of the HRC Foundation is to develop the international relations of the Hungarian higher education, to promote the Hungarian higher education institutions both in Hungary and abroad, to enhance and support student, teacher and researcher mobility, and to increase foreign student population in Hungarian higher education institutions.

The Foundation also aims to support and organize national and international academic programs and researches, to conduct mobility schemes and scholarship programs, to coordinate and organize projects related to higher education, to organize, conduct and support special language and bilingual trainings, to strengthen international research relations, and to increase the number of researchers. The Foundation also intends to create international cooperation and networks between higher education institutions, to support and organize project-based scientific collaboration between national and international academic institutions and pursue similar relationships with Hungarian, foreign and international organizations.
The Foundation might publish tenders, provide scholarships, support individual applications, provide reimbursement based on the decision of the Board of Trustees, organize conferences, training sessions and trips, and participate in national and European Union funded projects and tenders.
In order to develop the mobility of the Hungarian and international students, the Foundation can implement education related organizational tasks including the organization and coordination of housing and the health insurance of foreign students. The Foundation might perform any other activity that is related to foreign students’ participation in educational programs in Hungary, therefore it takes part in the organization of the students' recreational, cultural, sports and tourism programs and coordinates those.

Even though Hungary is member of the European Union since 2004, it is not part of the Euro-zone, therefore students can enjoy the European standard of living at a reasonable cost for 500-1.000USD/month, depending on their needs.
